Peter Jervis & Associates was established in June 1982 with Peter Jervis, who was working in the capacity of the principal engineer with consulting associates in the fields of roadwork and municipal water supply. Mr. Jervis brought to the company, eight years of experience as a civil engineer. He is a graduate from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad, where he received his Bachelors in civil engineering. He received his Masters in structural engineering from the University of Toronto.
He started working as an apprentice with the Ministry of Construction at the Public Works Department, serving in the Architectural, Quantity Surveying, Land Surveying and Material Testing Departments. He later worked as a structural engineer after graduating, and was engaged in the structural design and construction monitoring of various government buildings including courthouses, post offices, motor vehicle examination depots, and many others.
After leaving the PWD, he worked on various other projects such as establishing a central concrete batching and supply service, large housing construction that involved the designing of the casting yards, panel production and erection, planning and labor administration. Since the inception of the company in the year 1982, it has completed over 400 projects in almost every category of structural engineering as well as some civil design projects.
